Sometimes people who are injured in car accidents are simply at the wrong place at the wrong time through no fault of their own. After a freak car accident that left a postal worker dead late last month, authorities will have the city attorney revisit the case, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The postal worker died after a vehicle driven by a 59-year-old man hit him, pinning him between the vehicle and his mail van. He and his van were apparently pushed several feet into a fence. The worker’s legs were crushed and severed, and he later was pronounced dead at LA County USC Medical Center.
