Commerce secretary cited for hit-and-run after seizure, crashes

On behalf of Law Offices of Elia J. Castranova posted in hit-and-run accidents on Friday, June 15, 2012

The Commerce Secretary was in California last week to deliver a commencement address. His weekend was a surprisingly eventful one. He was involved in two crashes that were described as hit-and-run accidents. It was later revealed, however, that the man had suffered a seizure in the moments preceding the accidents and had limited recall of just what occurred.

The 68-year-old man was reportedly driving a Lexus in the San Gabriel Valley. He apparently rear-ended a Buick that was waiting for a train to go by. He talked to the men in the Buick, and after driving away he struck the vehicle a second time.
