A Malibu hit-and-run collision on Feb. 11 killed a tow truck driver, according to officials of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The car accident took place near Pepperdine University on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu at John Tyler Drive. The 44-year-old victim from Newbury Park was working on a disabled vehicle on the side of the road when he was hit and killed instantly. The driver of the car did not stop at the scene of the accident.

The 44-year-old female driver of the car that struck the victim continued driving on the Pacific Coast Highway for approximately two more miles before crashing into a parked car. She was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, and sheriff’s deputies say that she is being investigated for felony hit-and-run as well as DUI.
