Speed limiters may prevent truck accidents, study finds

Technology has evolved to the point that it’s actually possible to install devices on commercial trucks that will cap their speed limits. They’re designed to prevent truck accidents, and if recent data released by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration is any indication, the speed limiters seem to be working.
The data released recently is from a study conducted by researchers at the American Transportation Research Institute and the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute. According to Trucking Info, they examined 20 carriers in 2007, 2008 and 2009.
