Distracted drivers being targeted by LAPD

More drivers than usual are likely to be pulled over in Los Angeles this month. As part of the second annual National Distracted driving Awareness Month, officers will be going after people who are obviously driving distractedly — and it’s not limited to texting or talking on the phone.
In the hopes of reducing the number of car accidents, the Los Angeles Police Department and the California Highway Patrol are gearing up to stop drivers with a “zero tolerance” policy against distracted driving. About 225 organizations are participating in the program.
