It seems that any time you turn on a Los Angeles TV station, there is news of some sort of serious or fatal car accident. They happen all the time, but believe it or not, the numbers have decreased substantially over the years. In fact, if projections hold, 2011 will go down as the least deadly year for car accidents in the country since records started being kept in 1949.
The way it looks now, there were 32,310 traffic deaths in the U.S. last year. That’s down approximately 2 percent from the 32,885 deaths that were reported in 2010.
